 Um jeden Preis gewinnen wollen, ohne Rücksicht auf Verluste

Etwas zu gewinnen, beispielsweise einen Wettbewerb, ist herrlich, ohne Frage ein tolles Gefühl, aber ohne Rücksicht auf Verluste?

Gewinnen um jeden Preis, dieser Vorsatz liegt leider bei vielen an der Tagesordnung, auch schon bei Kindern im Vorschulalter. Als Mirabella mit ihren Vorschulklassenkameraden Fasching feierte, spielten sie ein Spiel in der Form eines Trinkwettbewerbs. Ein Kind hielt jeweils eine Flasche mit Orangensaft und ein weiteres Kind musste sich wie ein Baby auf deren Schoß legen, um gefüttert zu werden. Mirabella bekam die Babyrolle zugeteilt. Doch gerade als sie ihrer Teampartnerin mitteilen wollte, dass sie ihren Kopf anheben muss, weil sie sonst viel zu niedrig liegt und es äußerst schwierig ist so zu trinken, bekam sie die Flasche schon in den Mund gedrückt und musste schlucken was das Zeug hält. Es hätte nicht viel gefehlt, dann wäre sie erstickt und niemand, nicht einmal die Lehrerin, bekam davon etwas mit. Ich weiß nicht mehr, aber ich glaube mich daran zu erinnern, dass sie als Sieger des Wettbewerbs hervorgegangen sind. Jedoch ging das Mirabella in diesem Moment mit Verlaub gesagt wirklich an der Sitzfläche vorbei.

Wanting to win at all costs, regardless of the loss

Winning something, say a competition, is wonderful, no doubt a great feeling, but regardless of the loss?

Winning at any price, this resolution is unfortunately the order of the day for many, even for pre-school children. When Mirabella celebrated Mardi Gras with her preschool classmates, they played a game in the form of a drinking contest. One child each held a bottle of orange juice and another child had to lie on their laps like a baby to be fed. Mirabella was assigned the baby role. But just as she was about to tell her teammate that she had to raise her head because otherwise she would lie far too low and it would be extremely difficult to drink like that, she got the bottle pushed into her mouth and had to swallow like crazy. It would not have been a long time before she would have suffocated and nobody, not even the teacher, noticed anything. I do not know anymore, but I seem to remember that they emerged as the winners of the competition. However, at that moment the Mirabella really went past the seat, if I may say so.
